For the cultures
The Altar America Project is an annual ancestor and cultural remembrance celebration where participants create altars to express their culture and remember their loved ones who have passed away.
This celebration brings together people from diverse backgrounds to express their cultures, cope with the trauma of loss, and forge new cultural bonds.

The Altars Festival *
The Altars Festival is a celebration of cross-cultural ancestor remembrance — a music fest and art exhibition inspired by the Altar America Project. Our mission is to alter America for the better by bringing communities together through art, culture, and history.
Through the work of the artists creating altars, the speakers, and the musicians, the goal of the festival is for the community to engage in and celebrate their own culturally relevant acts of remembrance.
